In the never-ending quest to attract a younger crowd to casinos, MGM Resorts has announced that a nightclub that is former the Luxor in nevada will reopen as an esports arena.
The Luxor is remodeling its now-defunct nightclub LAX into an esports arena. The aim is to pull in a younger demographic, not as enchanted by traditional slot machines as their parents.
The business has entered into a deal with Allied Esports and Esports Arena to develop a dedicated venue for gamers at the now closed LAX nightclub. The space that is 30,000-square-foot have multi-level arena detailed with competition stage, LED movie wall, telescopic seating, day-to-day gaming channels, a customized food and drink offering, and a state-of-the-art streaming and television-quality manufacturing studio.
Niklas Rytterstrom, general manager of Luxor, believes that esports may be the future and will be one of the more popular features at the Strip resort, when it is completed in June 2018.
‘Our company is the leader in the entertainment industry and recognizes the exciting growth in the esports industry,’ he said. ‘ With this partnership, we will introduce an experience that is new the marketplace, yet again elevating the city’s vast activity offerings.’
